the current Representative, Dave Weldon, (FL district 15) does not agree with any parts of your pledge. Fortunately he is retiring and democrat Steve Blythe is a candidate who probably agrees with all parts of the pledge while the republican candidate, Bill Posey (former FL State Senator) probably does not.

Mary Fallin: I was at a town hall meeting today in Oklahoma City. I read Mary the pledge. She said she is all for transparency but would need the specifics to determine the agreement on the pledge. I said it was very simple and she could respond now. Her Chief of Staff, Nate Webb said he would get back with me within the week, I also emailed him the change-congress website.

1. Ed has never taken money from PACs and lobbyists. During his 14 years in the Iowa House, he was one of only two legislators who refused to take PACs and lobbyists. Rep. Boswell, on the other hand, received 74% of his campaign contributions from PACs alone last year.
2. Ed wants to eliminate earmarks.
3. Ed supported public financing of elections in the Iowa legislature and supports this on the federal level, as well.
4. Ed favors as much transparency and sunlight as possible.
Ed is running on five issues in particular: getting out of Iraq, universal health care, campaign finance reform (including public financing of elections), budget reform (especially getting rid of earmarks), and fair trade.
Ed was endorsed last month by Democracy for America and this month by the EENR Progressives blog.

I called and spoke to Jon's Campaign Manager, John Gerkin. His email is johngerkin@powersforcongress.com and his number is .
His responses to your questions as best I can paraphrase them:
Lobbyist money - thinks it's wrong, but doesn’t know how they could compete on public funds alone. Would be willing to work to this end in Congress, but unfair to not take $$ now.
Public financing - not this election as said, but wonders how it could be fair.
Transparency - is 100% for FULL transparency for congress, funding and elections, including earmarks.
Earmarks - would not end earmarks, since they feel it is a fair way to get needed $$$ back into a congressional district. IS 100% for making them completely transparent and would release all earmarks.
I truly think that Jon Powers is a good candidate to join this movement. He is an Iraqi war veteran who started a charity in Iraq for children and has make many really great statements about changing the status quo in congress. Perhaps someone more influential could sway Jon and his campaign to endorse the Change Congress Movement.
