Almost all of the energy that we use comes from the sun. Most of the energy that we have been using for heating, lighting, industrial processes and transportation come from fossil fuels. Many peole think that we are at or near the peak of crude oil extraction. In 194x, Thomas Edison told Henry Ford tha we should start using sunshine to provide power before all the fossil fuel was used up. Few people were listening. Now that a majority of voters want sustainable energy, the politicians are slow to shift our support from fossil fuels to sustainable sources. The principal tools of Fosil Fuel lobbyists seem to be misinformation and bribery. Senator Ellen Anderson of Minnesota has delivered the most ambitious carbon reduction legislation of any state in the union. She recommends that informed citizens invite their legislator to group meetings so that misinformation can be located and remedies planned. Perhaps this web site can be used as a locale for information sharing regarding th corruption in the sustainable energy field.
